Short version: Shortly reads your calendar on your device only. It doesn't require an account, doesn't collect analytics, doesn't show ads, and doesn't sell or share your data with anyone. Nothing ever leaves your iPhone.

What Shortly does

Shortly is an independent iPhone app that shows your next calendar events — with a live countdown — on your Home Screen and Lock Screen. It reads your calendar directly on your device using Apple's calendar framework and displays what's coming up next.

Information we collect

Shortly is designed to work without an account or sign-in. We do not collect your name, email address, or any other personal identifying information through the app. In fact, we don't collect any data from you at all.

Your calendar events — read on your device to display upcoming events in the app and its widgets. Event details are never transmitted to us or any third party.
Your preferences — which calendars you show, how many events to display, and which events you've chosen to ignore are stored locally on your device (and shared securely between the app and its widgets via Apple's App Group storage).

Information we don't collect

No account creation or login
No analytics or usage tracking
No advertising identifiers or ad tracking
No sale or sharing of data with third parties
No network connection required to use the app

How your calendar is used

When you first add the widget or open the app, iOS asks for your permission to access your calendar. Shortly uses that access only to read your upcoming events on your device so it can show what's next. Your calendar data is never uploaded, shared, or transmitted anywhere. You can change or revoke calendar access at any time in the iOS Settings app.

Third-party services

Shortly does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. It does not send your information to anyone.

Children's privacy

Shortly does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children under 13, because it does not collect personal information from any user in the first place.

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and revise the "Last updated" date above.
